Teatro HerediaOriginally, the Iglesia de la Merced, built in 1625, stood on this property. In 1911, to celebrate the centennial celebration of the countries Independence, the current building was constructed over what were the ruins of the old church. Thoroughly re-constructed in 1998, the Teatro Heredia, (named for the founder of Cartagena) is by far, one of the most beautiful theaters in all of the Americas.

Excellent acoustics, computerized lighting, 99 channel sound system, closed circuit TV, air conditioning and comfortable guest seating are all part of the total functionality of this first class entertainment/educational facility.
